(Boston) - The National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild (NIPNLG) stands in solidarity today - and every day - with immigrant recipients of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), the federal program that has protected 800,000 immigrants who arrived to the United States as youth, and allowed them to work, attend school, contribute, and participate productively and openly in our society. Today's decision by President Trump to rescind the program is cruel, counter-productive, and unjust. It will destabilize thousands of communities across our nation, and serves to extend the president's sustained assault upon immigrants, attacks that began in January with the anti-Muslim ban, and that continue today with the termination of DACA. We stand with all individuals who contribute to our neighborhoods, families, and workplaces, regardless of immigration status. We urge recipients of DACA to seek legal counsel if they have questions about their case.
