Even several months into the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration detention facilities remain breeding grounds for the disease. Immigration detention for vulnerable individuals has become a potential death sentence. This litigation on behalf of four medically vulnerable immigrants detained in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Mississippi seeks their immediate release from civil immigration detention.

NIPNLG filed the lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi along with the Center for Constitutional Rights, the MacArthur Justice Center, and Jeremy Jong.
